Viral Dumpling Salad

If you’re on TikTok or Instagram you’ve probably seen this “salad” explode in popularity over the last little while. After initially thinking it was mostly hype, I finally decided to try it, and…I was wrong. This Blackstone Viral Dumpling Salad is going to be showing up on my menu regularly.

Viral Dumpling Salad

I’ve made a lot of TikTok recipes over the years. Some of the most epic trends have originated on that platform, and I spend more time than I’d admit scrolling through videos and laughing along with all of the creative content being made out there. This one was the biggest hit here, and so easy to make!

I love using a griddle to cook gyoza. They brown so well and you can make SO many at once. My Kimchi Gyoza recipe lives on my other blog, but has been featured by Blackstone in one of their cookbooks and was in the Great Griddle Off a couple of years ago. It is delicious!

Why You’ll Love It

  • Quick & Easy – This recipe only requires cooking of the dumplings, and those only take about 15-20 minutes, max, to get steamed and browned.
  • Family Favorite – Everyone loves dumplings! This is an easy way to turn them into a whole meal.
  • Good Way To Get More Veggies In – So many great options for vegetables here. Pictured you see cabbage and cucumber, but if I had shredded carrots I 100% would’ve included those. Next time!
  • Super Versatile – Toss in different vegetables. Change up the sauce. Add some yakisoba noodles that have been stir-fried. Make it your own!

Dumpling Salad Grocery List

Here’s a quick run-down of what ingredients you need to make this recipe successfully. This is handy to quickly glance at to see if whipping this up will require a trip to the store. For the full ingredients, including the amounts, refer to the recipe at the bottom of the post.

Ingredients

  • Dumplings or Gyoza – Hit up the frozen section of your local grocery store. Grab your favorite flavor. Experiment!
  • Avocado Oil – I love avocado oil because it has a neutral oil and a high smoke point. Other types of oil work, too, if you don’t have avocado oil.
  • Napa Cabbage – Tender, delicious, and tastes great raw. Slice it thinly for the best results.
  • Mini Cucumbers – Slice them nice and thin and add as many as you’d like!
  • Green Onions – AKA scallions, these add great color and flavor to the dish!
  • Cilantro – If you are a cilantro hater, feel free to omit.
  • Soy Sauce – The quality of the soy sauce matters. I really love a good Smoked Shoyu, but you do you!
  • Sweet Chili Sauce – Sweet and spicy in the best way.
  • Sesame Oil – All the flavor. Don’t skip it!
  • Honey – If you don’t have honey, you can skip it. There’s enough sweetness from the sweet chili sauce. Just add a little extra.
  • Black Vinegar – This is a “specialty” ingredient, but one I use a LOT when I’m making stir fry. Grab a bottle here.

More Incredible Asian-Inspired Recipes

I’m borderline obsessed with most Asian cuisines. Korean, Chinese, Thai, Vietnamese, Japanese…I love it. When I go out to eat, chances are I’ll be picking something along those lines. When I can’t go out to eat every day of my life (which is always) I try and recreate my favorites at home. Are they “authentic”. Definitely not. But they are delicious, and that’s what matters.
